the grunt...err....kihap


I've mentioned how we are supposed to kihap loudly during our classes. It's funny that it is pretty much required compared to the social faux pas of grunting when lifting weights. The rational given at my dojang is that the adrenaline rush gives you more power to your kick, punch, block, whatever you are doing. However, they also specifically say it is to intimidate your opponent. Do weight lifters actually feel intimidated by the grunters?
