Apparently, if you hang around teaching at the dojang long enough, Kwonjanim starts to feel a little guilty and puts you on the payroll.

Well, that's not exactly true. However, my contract was up at the dojang and I really couldn't afford to pay full retail price for training anymore. I went in and negotiated.  I'm now on the payroll with a set schedule for teaching to help offset the cost of training.  The part time job was his idea of course. I was just hoping for a cheaper rate.

I keep getting the white belts to teach on a regular basis. The most difficult thing to deal with is the wide age range of the students. The littlest kids need the most help and most attention. They consume a lot of time in class. However, I must counter my attention to them with enough information and training for the adults that they don't get bored. It's a tricky balancing act.

The reward is seeing the progress your white belts are making. It's baby steps for the moment but I like to think that although I'm teaching the most basic of skills, I'm teaching them a good foundation to build on and avoid mistakes later. The devil is in the details.
