It's been a while since I last posted. Truth is, I've been fairly busy with a large number of non TKD related items. Taekwondo is progressing along for all of us. Our next belt test is coming up in a few weeks which will be followed a week later with a Poomse competition. We have all of our stripes and are just perfecting our techniques on everything.
The kids were each sick a week out of the quarter so they are short on classes. We're supposed to have 24 classes in and the kids will only have 22 each. The instructors are going to let them test anyway though because they were closed on 2 separate weekends and it was difficult to make up the classes.
One of those weekends is a black belt test getaway weekend up in Keystone. The weekend is for all the black belt candidates ("Cho Dan Bo" belts) and also the "tip" tests for those students who are black belts and progressing toward their next dan (i.e. 2nd degree black belt is 2nd dan). A couple of the people who tested also got their next dan. The weekend is also mandatory for those testing for their Cho Dan Bo. It's good to know what's coming up for us 2 years down the road but I'm a little daunted by the amount of work I saw they were doing. I read the itinerary for the whole test and it was a very packed and full weekend going from 9:00 am - 11:00 pm on Saturday then 7:30 am to 3:00 pm on Sunday.
I still haven't seen the doc about my foot. I need to make that appointment. I did get blood work results back from the 9news health fair. My triglyceride levels have dropped radically with my dietary changes and weight loss. Double reason to see the doc to discuss the results.
We've been doing TKD for over a year now. Come September we'll be 2 years away from our black belts. It's hard to believe actually.
